Seaton High School

Seaton High School is located in the northwest suburb of Adelaide of the same name. Nearby attractions include the West Lakes Shopping Centre, the West Lakes Aquatic Centre, and the coast, which is only 2.5 km away. The area is well connected to public transportation. Thanks to extensive building renovations, the school recently acquired a number of new buildings and excellent facilities, including an Entrepreneurial Hub and a STEM Center.

Since 2018, Seaton High School has been one of only five “Entrepreneurial Specialist Schools” in South Australia. This makes the school a model for practical, future-oriented learning. Students are encouraged to think entrepreneurially and innovatively, to collaborate with experts, and to actively contribute their ideas to the community. There are a number of special programs for this purpose, such as Emerging Technologies, Visual Arts & Innovation, and the Diamond Sports Program.

In Emerging Technologies, students explore creative applications of new technologies such as robotics, computer-aided design, future manufacturing methods, and 3D printing. They tackle real-world challenges in areas such as conservation and applied geoscience using drones and 3D mapping software.

In Visual Arts & Innovation, students experiment with a range of techniques and materials that are relatively uncommon here. These include laser cutting and etching, and advanced manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing in contemporary art. They also work with external artists.

An important component is the renowned Diamond Sports Program, which offers high-performance training in baseball and softball. Students are coached by national and international coaches and have access to a high-performance indoor training center with a sports hall, analysis lab, batting cages, and pitching machines. Other sports include basketball, football (AFL), and soccer, with teams selected each year based on student interest.
