Fremantle College is located just a few steps from the Indian Ocean. With beaches, rivers, harbors, and the maritime industry in close proximity, students discover how lessons become real-life experiences—especially in the Specialist Marine Studies Program, which combines learning with experience.
The spacious campus with its green spaces, shaded seating areas, and open learning zones creates a pleasant environment for relaxation, socializing, and working together outdoors.
Fremantle College offers a wide range of courses with exciting focuses on marine science, information and communication technology, and contemporary music. The portfolio is complemented by the AFL Academy for athletically ambitious girls and boys.
Those who are passionate about the sea will find ideal conditions in the Specialist Marine Studies Program. Here, students literally immerse themselves in the underwater world that lies just off the school’s coast. They learn to understand the complex challenges facing our oceans – from climate change and sustainable fishing to marine pollution – and develop an awareness of the close connection between humans and the sea. The program continues into grades 11 and 12.
The Specialist Contemporary Music Program combines theory and practice into an inspiring curriculum that promotes creativity and musical skill. Students expand their artistic potential by writing, arranging, recording, and performing their own compositions. Weekly instrumental lessons, band and ensemble work, and digital recording technology complement the program. Performances, camps, and tours enrich the musical experience. In grades 11 and 12, students can specialize in Music Production or earn a degree in Music Industry.
The Specialist ICT Program (Information and Computing Technology) focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The practice-oriented lessons combine programming and coding with solving real-world technical challenges.
In cooperation with the West Australian Football Commission, Fremantle College also offers its own AFL Academy. The curriculum combines practical and theoretical content and covers all aspects of the game – on and off the field. Participants acquire knowledge in biomechanics, physiology, health, and nutrition and can further deepen their knowledge in senior school.
