Kinross College

Kinross College is located in the northern suburbs of Perth, just 5 km from Joondalup and one kilometer from beautiful Burns Beach. The school offers its students an exceptional variety of programs and learning opportunities. These include the Aviation Academy, Marine and Maritime Studies, and the Esteem Dance Program.

The Aviation Academy offers exciting insights into the world of aviation. Participants can take flying lessons that lead to a pilot’s license. A special highlight is the Full Motion Flight Simulator, a 3-axis flight simulator that provides a realistic flying experience. In addition, there is the opportunity to fly a light training aircraft and continue flying lessons outside of school. Furthermore, students can obtain a license for remote-controlled drones and develop practical skills in drone navigation, control, and technology.

STEM activities, i.e., science, technology, and mathematics, are taught in a practical manner at Kinross College. There are courses such as 3D printing, robotics, electrical engineering, laser cutting projects, and mechatronics.

With more than 21,000 kilometers of coastline, Australia is inextricably linked to the sea. The Marine and Maritime Studies course teaches students about the relationship between humans and the ocean. The concept of sustainability is always at the forefront. In grade 11, students can obtain a diving license, and in grade 12, they have the opportunity to obtain a recreational boat license.

The Dance and Music Academies enjoy an excellent reputation. Their quality is regularly demonstrated in impressive school productions. The Dance Academy is open to students in grades 7 to 10. The Esteem Dance Program, a select performance and competition team, is open to students in grades 7 through 12. Training includes hip hop, jazz, and lyrical dance, with a focus on technique, stage presence, teamwork, and competition experience. The ensemble performs at regional and national competitions as well as community events.

Another highlight of Kinross College is its extensive Outdoor Education Program. Activities include camping, canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling, bushwalking, orienteering, and obtaining a Community Surf Rescue Certificate.

Surfers and beginners who want to pursue their sport outside of school will find ideal conditions at Mullaloo Beach, just one kilometer away, at the Northern Beaches Surf School.
