Mindarie Senior College is located approximately 38 kilometers north of Perth city center, just minutes from white sandy beaches, parks, and Yanchep National Park. The area is very well connected to the public transport network, and shops, cafes, and restaurants are within easy reach. In Yanchep National Park, you can gain insights into Aboriginal culture and encounter koalas.
The college exclusively teaches grades 11 and 12 and specifically promotes independence and responsibility in this age group. The relationship between teachers and students is based on mutual respect and partnership. The focus is on the “whole person approach” – promoting students not only academically, but also personally and socially.
A special feature of Mindarie Senior College is its flexible teaching model: classes are held four days a week. There is no regular timetable on Wednesdays; instead, students can use the day for individual study, mentoring sessions, or structured internships and training programs. Two days a week are set aside for this, with extended teaching hours until 4:15 p.m.
The mentoring program is at the heart of student support at Mindarie Senior College. Each teacher supervises a fixed group of students throughout both school years and is the point of contact for them and their parents. The groups meet regularly to discuss learning progress and personal goals. This creates a sense of familiarity, belonging, and continuity.
For competitive athletes, there is TEAM (Talented & Elite Athletes Mindarie), a special program designed to balance sports and academic performance. Important aspects of the program include health maintenance, including injury prevention, nutrition, fitness, and sports psychology.
